“If you’re short, wear high heels. But do practice walking.”-Victoria Beckham

Ms. Beckham got me thinking.  I can’t tell you how often my 5’5” frame gets a super boost from some real-deal high heels and someone will say “I don’t know how you can walk in those things.”  I usually reply that I love every minute of it, and that there’s an art to walking without actually feeling like you’ve been on you’re tippy toes all day long, either that or me and many many others are just plain masochistic.

With that said, I took some of the teen center kids to the Field Museum today and there was an exhibit entitled “What would it be like to really walk a mile in someone’s shoes?”  Behind the glass were hundreds of shoes, from native american moccasins dated back to the early 1900’s to Michael Jordan’s 1997 Air Jordans.  It really made me think about where your feet take you and how much walking you do in life to find your way and feel comfortable in your own shoes.

What I’m trying to say is, whether it’s 4-inch heels or a beaded moccasins, practice makes perfect. Get your walk on.
