When it comes to lashes, women are going to great lengths for bolder and bigger lashes. With every new trend or phase comes a series of real-deal products as well as some straight-up smudging failures. With that said, I have decided to test out two of the latest lash ‘lengthening’ wands to see which mascara proves to make the eye really pop.
Covergirl, Lashblast Mascara

I’m sure you’ve all seen the commercials with Drew Barrymore raving about “the bigger, the better” lashes, very convincingly I might add. The Lashblast mascara boasts a bigger wand with bigger bristles and boy were they right. My lashes were longer and thicker, but I couldn’t tell if people would be drawn to my eyes because of my lashes or because of the black smudges that resonated all over my eyelid. The wand did inevitably do its job. It was just so big that upon volumizing my lashes, went a little overboard on my lids, which needless to say, gave me zero wow-factor. Plus, if you get water-proof like I did, it will take some intense scrubbing. Retails for about $8.50.

Maybelline Lash Stiletto Mascara

The commericals for Lash Stiletto Ultimate Length Mascara was also very effective, because like my pumps, I want my lashes tall and sexy. I was incredibly satisfied when I tried it. Not only did the brush lengthen, but it also eliminated clumps and removed any flakiness. The wand itself is longer, allowing for better angles with the bristles. This mascara gave just enough drama so that my eyes looked natural and sexy, instead of chunky and overdone. No raccoon eyes here. Retails for about $7.50.
Lash Stiletto wins my vote hands down.
