Gilty as Charged.
Gilt Groupe has made buying designer duds at a discounted rate a piece of cake; a piece of double chocolate, quadruple calorie cake—An irresistible guilty pleasure. Gilt Groupe gives us all the chance to look sheek with out the hefty price tag (although some items still cost a small fortune). Items include Men, Women, and Children’s fashions, plus an occasional furniture or housewares sale.
Prices are on a sliding scale varying from affordable to downright out of the question (for me, anyway). So it’s really a matter of looking everyday for a good deal.
My tip to new shoppers is to go right as the sales start or you will have no luck. Sales typical start at 12 ET/ 11 CT. I also suggest what I like to call the ‘quick browse’ which entails adding anything that looks somewhat appealing to your cart.
You have 10 minutes to make any decisions on your order, and because sizes are limited, you need to add it to your cart before someone else does. I’ve found that most sizes are gone within the first 10-20 minutes of the sale, so its important to scroll and select quickly.
This site really pushes you to make impulse decisions. If you don’t buy it within those ten minutes, someone else will, and then you’ll be searching for it on Bluefly and ebay for the next week.
